The Memorial...
Jane MacCalman Weed and Frank Leaycraft Weed
lived in the Northshore School District from 1971 until 2011 and
considered education a valuable and essential ingredient in life.
Jane graduated from the University of North Carolina and was a
teacher. Her father, Kenneth MacCalman, was superintendent of the
Nyack, N.Y. schools for 36 years. It was with his urging,
encouragement and support that Frank, while working full time,
attended eight years of night school at New York University to
attain his bachelor's degree. In their honor, the family of Frank
and Jane wish to make the recipient's additional education a bit
easier.
