Account Established -- 2013
The Greater Woodinville Chamber of Commerce is working
with the Foundation to establish an annual scholarship in keeping
with the community's support for those seeking a higher
education. The chamber plans to devote its major fund raising in
the near future to establish a permanent scholarship account
within the Foundation from which funds will be available for the
scholarship to be awarded year after year.

The scholarship
offered in 2013 was the first by Woodinville Chamber of Commerce in
its partnership relationship with the Foundation. It is the intent
of the chamber to raise initial funds for the scholarship and to
build a scholarship account at an annual charity auction held in March in
Woodinville. The purpose, criteria and details for the application
and selection process are described below.

Greater
Woodinville Chamber of Commerce Scholarship -
The scholarship
is provided by the Greater Woodinville Chamber of Commerce as an
investment in the future business leaders, entrepreneurs and
innovators of our community. The scholarship amount will be
$1,500. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior
residing in or attending a public or private school within
Woodinville or an incoming student at Cascadia Community College
or UW Bothell. The candidate must be accepted into an accredited
college or university. The candidate must be pursuing a degree in
the area(s) of business, marketing and/or finance or be able to
demonstrate a degree path clearly related to a future
entrepreneurial goal or focus. Participation in DECA or FBLA is
preferred, but not required. Financial need will be a primary
consideration.
Applicants should use the standard
scholarship
application form posted on the Foundation website. Finalists
will be interviewed and will be notified of the time and place of
interviews. The winner will be notified no later than May 1.
Applications are due February 6, 2015 at a Northshore School
District high school counseling office or via mail to the
Foundation post office box address of P O Box 173, Bothell, WA
98041.
