   Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Northshore, this scholarship is given each year in recognition of service to the Northshore School District and public education by former superintendents Lee Blakely and Frank B. Love, both members of Kiwanis.

   Lee Blakely served as superintendent from 1973 to 1980 and Dr. Love was Northshore's superintendent from 1980 until his death in 1988. Lee Blakely died in August, 2005 at the age of 87.

   The recipient is a Northshore graduating senior who is a National Merit Finalist with the highest SAT score, but who is not receiving scholarship funds from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Coordinated by -  High school counselors and scholarship committee of the Kiwanis Club of Northshore.

 

2008 Value -  $ 1,000


Purpose & Criteria - Provide recognition and financial assistance to the Northshore School District student receiving the highest SAT score who does not receive an accompanying tuition scholarship from another source connected with the National Merit Scholarship Foundation.


Application & Selection - Verification of SAT scores by district high school counselors.
